How to add new OPN in operating system?
Posted by Piotr Malendo on 08.04.2013 18:58

When you create a private network in admin panel then an additional configuration in operating system is required.

Linux

If one network has been added, it will be displayed after you enter the command ifconfig eth1 (as set out below picture).

Now just set the private IP address of the interface. If it is the address of 192.168.10.10, type the command:

ifconfig eth1 192.168.10.10 netmask 255.255.255.0 up

Windows

After logging in to the server go to Start | Control Panel | Network and Internet | Network and Shaing Center. New network adapter appears as Unidentified network.

To set up a new connection, click Local Area Connection | Internet Protocol Version 4 [TCP/IPv4]. Now set the connection parameters, for instance as shown below.

In absence of communication between machines check the security settings iptables (for Linux) or Windows Firewall.
