How does the load balancer inspect the instance availability and how to run one?

The instances may be assembled in the containers by function (e.g. the instances serving the same application). Due to this there exists an option of launching a service that balances a traffic between several instances grouped in the container.

When the HTTP traffic is being balanced, a request (HEAD) is being send to the instances grouped in the container. In case of a lack of the WWW server response, such server is being marked as unavailable within 2 seconds with one of the codes in the range of 200, 301-303, 307 and the traffic is not directed to this machine.

When the monitoring is switched on, it is worth to make sure that the mentioned question will give back the response code embedding in the mentioned range.

In order to run this service, it is needed to run the load balancer option first in the administration panel. It is essential setting in operating the container. To activate it, you should select the submenu Containers located in the menu Services. Afterwards you should mark Load balancer and Healthcheck.
